IS THE LIFE OF A CHILD, A GIRL, A HUMAN ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS?

As I read about her in the newspaper and see her on the TV, all I see is the innocence in her eyes. Her eyes which were full of dreams and hopes. Her eyes which hadn’t seen the beautiful big world. Her eyes which were yet to experience the ups and downs of life. Her eyes, which I am sure must have been so helpless when the eight-year-old poor child was abducted, tortured, raped repeatedly and murdered, and her body was dumped in a forest. And what surprises me the most is the never ending religious war which doesn’t even spare the value of life for an eight-year-old. Hindus and Muslims have got yet another reason to fight with each other, wow! Congratulations! Asifa was held hostage for three days. THREE DAYS guys! She was forced with sedatives and repeatedly raped by different men! And what will make you guys applaud for being an Indian is the fact that Asifa was later killed by these horrible creatures, who apparently call themselves humans!

Clearly 16th December 2012 was not enough for our country. All that rage and those protests seem baseless today. Those of you who don’t know what I am referring to: it was an almost similar unfortunate, horrible, brutal incident which happened in the year 2012 and shook the nation like anything. The brutal gang rape of a paramedical student by six men on a moving bus in the national capital left everyone speechless for the sheer brutality and torture inflicted on the hapless girl. The accused were sentenced to death after years of the incident however this didn’t stop another bunch of inhuman creatures to repeat the history. It gives me immense sadness to describe in words how I feel about being a girl born and raised on a land which also has men of such sort! That’s bizarre! Isn’t it?

The life of a girl, a child, a human, is it absolutely worthless in India? What are we doing other than lighting candles or blaming “religions”. That is the cherry on the cake! I mean, besides everything, how can anyone on earth blame or support a religion when it’s about the life of innocent little girls. I feel extremely fumbled and disheartened to say this but we have failed as a nation, for sure.

Today, I really do not have words to express my anger and my scarred heart. I just want to pray for the victim and her family.

This story horrified me! A poor defenseless child tortured by men who should have looked out for her but instead chose to abuse & kill her! Where is the humanity? I can’t comprehend how people can be so evil!

  3. The problem is big issues stay hidden while movies get all the bans and debates. So we know now that movies are more valuable than human life. This is even such a shame to write this down.

I am so sorry for this little girl. There is nothing that pains my heart more than a child being tortured, hurt in any way. It is a shame for humanity that this despicable things happen in our world. Yes, my heart goes out to this little angel.
