From a daughter to her parents

I can call myself a strong and independent woman today and that’s because of the trust you had in me over all these years. Thank you, Papa Mumma for giving me the wings to fly, despite knowing the fact that I will fall. But you never lost hope of me standing back on my feet again, all by myself. It means a lot to me.

From playing with me and my dolls to training me to drive a car, you always placed my happiness and safety before everything else. I still remember the days when I was trying to make a balance and you ran holding the back of my bicycle.

I grew up seeing you fixing things all around the house, from my toys to the computer wire. Do you remember all those long walks when you would give me life lessons and ask me to be humble and down to earth always? I can never forget those days. I would come running to you whenever I felt low and you would turn up the situation in no time. You are like a magician, an influencer, a motivational speaker to me, Papa. I really fail to understand how you get all the patience in the world. How do you think so pure?

I want to thank you for teaching me to be self-sufficient. I learnt to always work hard and establish yourself, both morally and financially. Whenever I feel dissatisfied or unhappy with anything in life, I always consider the example of the tons of people who are not half as blessed as I am and my entire direction goes from the unhappiness to praying for them. I have learnt this from you and I feel so proud of it. I know how far have you both struggled while raising me and without saying it to me, ever.

I disagree with you over some things though and you know it. For example, I cannot stay silent and be good to those who think evil or negative of me or anyone around. I never imagined my patience with such people in life, but see, I stay quiet. I told you, you are a magician.

Even when I am at my lowest, it’s you who never leaves my side and offer a sane advice. “This is just a phase, life is not always easy beta.

I cannot thank you and mother enough for trusting me and my choices. You know what I mean, right?

When I got married, I remember the never-ending smile on your face. You guys were worried as always. You still are, I know. But don’t worry Papa Mumma, I am doing good. I am happy. You stay happy please. You never placed your happiness, your life, your wishes over me. I never saw you fulfilling those. It was always about me. And people who say that daughters don’t share the same bond with their parents after marriage are fools, I believe. And yes, I am being very practical when I am saying that. Why not, huh? No one can take the place you guys hold in my life, like no one!

I am so glad and feel lucky that my husband gives you the same love and respect and you guys share an equally warm and close bond.

That being said, always remember, no matter how old I get or where I am, I will always love you and be there for you, ALWAYS!
