WHEN MY LONG-DISTANCE HUSBAND VISITED AFTER A LONG TIME

Hey all you lovely readers. So, if you have been following my blogs, you know that my long-distance husband was coming to India after 6 hell long months! SIX MONTHS! Yes, so I had been really really excited about meeting him after such a long time and had posted a blog https://throughmymind.blog/2018/02/11/meeting-him-after-a-long-long-time/ to tell you guys how I am dealing with the anxiety and excitement both at the same time. If you haven’t read this one already, go read it now before you switch over to this one.

Okay so, I was waiting for him at the airport, 8 in the morning. I saw people coming out from the international arrival, meeting their loved ones and all this made me so emotional. Before I left for the airport, I was determined not to cry. However, seeing people meet and hug their loved ones, clubbed with the excitement and happiness to meet him after a long time, made me cry! He hadn’t arrived yet! And in the next 20 minutes, there he was!

My husband, my long-distance husband, my friend, my best ever friend. Although, face time helped us see each other virtually every single day but this was different. I could hug him, we could hold hands and I could run my fingers through his hair. Oh, my god! It felt like a dream and trust me I am not exaggerating when I am saying that. It had been so long and this was the first time in the last 4 years that I hadn’t seen him in such a long time. I wished the time to stop. When he met Teez, our baby (female Labrador, aged 13), she was so excited and enthralled to meet him, she was jumping all over the place and expressing her happiness in the best possible way. Everyone was happy. It was just so perfect.

In the evening, we all went out for a movie and dinner. Although I had visited him once for our anniversary in the last week of October last year, he was meeting his parents and his brother after six long months. We all had an amazing time together. We just had two days before we had to leave for Jammu to attend a wedding. We spent the best time together, all of us, laughing together, eating together and looking forward to the trip.

Since my husband was going to visit after a long time and we were supposed to go for a wedding plus a little rejuvenating trip to the hills, so it required a lot of advanced planning.

THINGS WE PLANNED FOR OUR TRIP

  • Essential wedding attires

Since wedding clothes are to be worn occasionally and after a long time, it’s very important to go through your closet and get in to every single dress. Spare sometime for the alterations or new purchases and so I suggest doing this at least a month before the wedding.

  • Planned for the trip

Since this was a mix of the wedding function plus our little family trip, I had to plan and pack the clothes for the trip as well, with a lot of warm clothes plus the essentials as well.

  • Electronics and Gadgets

Of course, some gadgets like the camera and the laptops. Following my check list, I made sure that my bag had all of those necessary electronics needed.

Yes, I had to work while I was on the trip. It was extremely hectic but fun at the same time. It was all the way more special because my husband and I were together after a pretty long time.

We were very happy and enjoyed thoroughly. Little did we know that something bad, miserably bad was coming up. I had drafted this blog a few days back, however I couldn’t complete it because of what happened meanwhile. I will be drafting a blog describing what happened next. Stay tuned!
